Soluble in water, ethanol, ether and chloroform, etc., unstable, and decomposes when it interacts with alkali or when distilled at atmospheric pressure. Long-term storage at room temperature is easy to polymerize.
Usage
It is used as an intermediate in the production of mesityl oxide, methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl isobutyl methanol and hexanediol, phorone and isophorone from acetone; it is also widely used as paint brightener, amino acid Thinner for lacquer and nitro lacquer, and solvents such as acetyl cellulose and epoxy resin.
Safety
This product is irritating to the eyes, skin and mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. It enters the body through the respiratory tract and digestive tract, affects the nervous system, and damages the liver and stomach. Inhalation of high concentrations of vapor can cause pulmonary edema and even coma. Prolonged exposure can cause dermatitis.
