N-Ethylmorpholine (CAS 100-74-3), systematically named 4-ethylmorpholine, is a colorless to pale yellow alkaline liquid with a characteristic amine odor. It exhibits hygroscopicity and is fully miscible with water, alcohols, and most organic solvents, including  benzene, and ether. With a boiling point of 138-139°C and a flash point of 32°C (closed cup), N-Ethylmorpholine is less volatile than morpholine but still requires careful handling due to flammability (autoignition temperature: 245°C). Its vapor forms explosive mixtures with air at concentrations of 1.1% to 10.2% (volume fraction).
