Product Description

Chemical properties:
Colorless liquid. The melting point is -85°C, the boiling point is 125.8°C, the relative density is 0.8645 (20°C), the refractive index is 1.4189, and the flash point is 35°C. Soluble in water and alcohol. There is ammonia smell.

Usage:
It is used as the intermediate body of the drugs promethazine and mesanton. Also used as a stabilizer for acrylonitrile polymers. 1-Dimethylamino-2-propanol can be chlorinated with thionyl chloride to obtain 2-chloro-1-dimethylaminopropane hydrochloride (584-49-0).

Production method:
1. The propylene oxide method is obtained by the reaction of propylene oxide with dimethylamine.
2. Chlorinated isopropanol method by the reaction of chlorinated isopropanol with dimethylamine.
